Vadiraj Shashikanth Jahagirdar is a passionate Computer Science Engineer with over 6 years of software development experience. He started his career as a C/C++ developer and transitioned into Java development for the past 5+ years. Vadiraj is currently a Member of Technical Staff - 4 at Nutanix, where he is part of the team building the next generation platform for Nutanix's flagship product Prism. He works with Java, OpenAPI, Swagger Codegen, Go, gRPC, and Spring boot. Prior to joining Nutanix, Vadiraj was a Software Engineer 3 at Juniper Networks, where he was part of Juniper’s security management solution and worked on products like CSO (Contrail Service Orchestration), Security Director (On-Prem offering), and Security Director Cloud (SAAS offering). He was primarily a Java backend developer for a Java-based microservice running on Kubernetes. Vadiraj was instrumental in replacing HTTP-based communication with gRPC and used Java profiling tools (YJP) to investigate performance and scale issues. He delivered multiple features like multi-tenant job progression to serve all simultaneous internal jobs with the same progress, replaced REST-based communication with a new Job-Management framework so that users of the library can talk to Jo Service via Apache Kafka. Vadiraj has a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University.
